Solicitation of Insurance Prohibited on Military Installations

As a reminder, the Department of Defense previously established policies and procedures regarding personal commercial solicitations on Department of Defense installations. These solicitations include insurance products and services. An installation is any Federally owned, leased or operated base, reservation, post, camp, building or other facility to which the Department of Defense personnel are assigned for duty, including barracks, transient housing and family quarters.

Based on this ruling and the burdensome restrictions it places on both the Company and producers, the Company has determined that its appointed producers will be prohibited from soliciting for or transacting any insurance product sale on a military installation. These regulations do not prohibit sales of insurance products to military personnel if the solicitation and sale take place at another location.
